2018 New Beginnings

Thursday, May 17, 2018

This spring we celebrate new beginnings for several CEBC researchers.

Three graduate students completed their doctoral dissertations, including chemist Allyssa Massie and chemical engineers Dupeng Liu and Hongda Zhu.  Derek Rice is also expected to finish his PhD in chemistry this summer. Liu and Zhu are shown below with mentor Prof. Bala Subramaniam.  Massie and Rice are mentored by Prof. Tim Jackson.

Undergraduate Tomas Green also graduated this spring and had the honor of carrying the Class of 2018 banner down the Hill. He will be starting at MIT in the fall to pursue a MS in technology and policy.

Three postdocs are leaving CEBC as well. Pablo Palafox is taking a faculty position at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Two are headed to industry positions, including David Minnick at Battelle and Bill Gilbert at Chemours.

We applaud the accomplishments of these researchers—best of luck to you all!
